Kerrville New Folk winner Rob Lutes has built a fine reputation for his folk roots songwriting and fingerstyle play, with a wonderfully warm bluesy delivery, and a fantastic soulful voice. A multi Maple Blues and Canadian Folk Music Awards nominee, Rob Lutes picked up the 2018 Canadian Folk Music Award for Contemporary Singer of the Year.

His latest album, 2017’s critically acclaimed “Walk In The Dark” features twelve original songs, a couple of co-writes with award-winning Americana songwriter Dale Boyle and a cover of John Prine‘s “Rocky Mountain Time”. The album explores a wide range of subjects and pays homage to some of his heroes: James Cotton (on “There’s No Way to Tell You That Tonight”) and guitarist Joseph Spence (on the instrumental “Spence”). Among the musicians supporting Rob on the album are regular side player – guitarist Rob MacDonald, keyboardist Bob Stagg, Guy Bélanger on harmonica and Joe Grass on mandolin.
